The Geography and History Teachers Association NT (GHTANT) supports teachers to better engage Territory students in the Humanities and Social Sciences. We work with teachers across all stages of schooling, in all regions and in all sectors. We also welcome members not currently in the classroom, including educational officers and tertiary-level educators.
Pre-service teachers are particularly welcome! We love to support aspiring humanities teachers move from lecture hall to classroom - let us help you!

GHTANT exists to support the teaching of humanities and social sciences for the benefit of Territory students. To achieve our aims, we provide regular professional learning events independently, in conjunction with other Territory teaching associations or through our national affiliations.
Professional Teachers Association NT
We are a member of PTANT - the Professional Teachers Association NT - who are our primary funding body. Each year, PTANT provides professional learning and governance grants to support us in our business.
We are appreciative of our links with Territory and National affiliates - these partnerships benefit our teachers by enhancing access to professional learning.
History Teachers Association of Australia
GHTANT is proud to be affiliated with the national body for History teachers' associations.
In addition to involvement on national initiatives, GHTANT is pleased to provide financial support to our members to attend the annual HTAA conference.
Australian Geography Teachers Association
GHTANT greatly appreciates our role as a member of the national Geography teacher's association.
We have an active role on national initiatives in Geography education and support our members to attend the biennial national AGTA conference.
