2021 GHTANT & ETANT Central Australia Conference

Following on from our successful conference in 2020, GHTANT and ETANT are proud to present our third Central Australia Conference for Humanities and English Teachers. Let's make this an annual event!

If you are a member of GHTANT or ETANT, you can attend this event for free. If you are not a member, please visit http://www.ghtant.org.au or https://www.aate.org.au/etant to join. Note that GHTANT has institutional members, so check with your school to see if you are eligible to attend through your school's membership.

Non-member prices are $40.00, which includes morning tea and lunch.

Attendees are welcome to join us for dinner on Saturday evening. We will provide appetizers, but meals and drinks will be paid by those attending. 

Due to COVID-19, our Special Guests this year will be appearing online.

We have Dr Rosalie Triolo, Senior Lecturer for History Education at Monash University, will present two sessions - one on Torres Strait Islander history and one embedding numeracy into the history curriculum. Rosalie has presented at other GHTANT workshops and at previous Festivals of Teaching, so we are very happy to have her share her experiences with our central Australian teachers. 

Young adult fiction and non-fiction writer Gabbie Stroud will be joining us to present a workshop on creative writing. 

Also presenting will be Alice-based Justin Zammit and Glenda McCarthy, and Darwin-based Nelly Labiche, Charleen Conroy and Steve Hawkins.

Travel support: GHTANT can provide limited travel funding (up to $300) for fuel or accommodation expenses for those who may like to travel in. We would greatly appreciate it if you could try to reduce your costs by carpooling as our travel funding is quite tight. Email steve.hawkins@ntschools.net to inquire about this.
